QLD Health Patient Safety and Quality Executive Committee (PSQEC)
About the PSQEC
The roles and responsibilities of the PSQEC are to contribute to the management and delivery of QH health services and the achievement of QH strategic objectives, the PSQEC undertake the following:

Oversee the Queensland Health Clinical Governance Framework

Endorse policies and implementation standards relating to patient safety and quality issues

Advise the Executive Management Team on all matters relating to patient safety and quality

Develop and monitor a Patient Safety and Quality Plan for Queensland Health

Direct action to promote improvement in patient safety and quality of health care and consider relevant information as appropriate

Assess Queensland Health responses to safety and quality issues

Reviews and monitors patient and safety risks and performance indicators

Consults and collaborates with other QH Executive Committees when decisions / issues have the potential to impact on respective parts of the organisation.
PSQEC meetings are held every month, usually on the 2nd Monday of the month.
Submit agenda items to the PSQEC Secretariat for approval by the PSQEC Chair prior to being placed on the agenda.
The guidelines and an agenda brief template are available on request from the PSQEC Secretariat.
A communiqué is issued after the monthly meeting and is available for all Queensland Health employees to read.
