Requirements to Practise in Queensland

To work as an oral health professional in Queensland Australia, you must be registered with the appropriate Board for your discipline.  Dentists, dental therapists, oral health therapists and dental prosthetists are required to register with the Dental Board of Australia.  Dental technicians are required to register with the Dental Technicians Board of Queensland.

Note, if you are a dentist and were trained overseas in the United Kingdom, Ireland or New Zealand, your qualifications may be acceptable for immediate registration with the Dental Board of Australia.  For more information please refer to the Dental Board of Australia.

Oral health professionals who are qualified to take radiographs must also apply for a Queensland Radiation Use Licence.  For further information refer to the Queensland Health Radiation Health Unit.
