Over 24,000 patients a year are admitted to Queensland Intensive Care Units for acute life threatening, reversible medical conditions. If you like solving complex clinical problems, intellectually stimulating work, performing procedures and working in an innovative and dynamic team environment, then you should consider a career in Intensive Care.
To become a Fellow of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM) you need to register with the College and be appointed to an Intensive Care Unit accredited by the College for Intensive Care Medicine training. The College is responsible for and oversees the training and assessment of doctors who wish to practice as Intensive Care specialists.
Queensland Health is responsible for and oversees the Queensland Intensive Care (ICU) Training Pathway through which Intensive Care Registrars are centrally recruited, selected and allocated to Queensland CICM-accredited adult and paediatric Intensive Care Units to complete their training.
Expressions of Interest for Intensive Care Principal House Officer positions can be submitted via the Queensland Health Work for Us website.
All applications for positions in Intensive Care in 2013 will be via the RMO recruitment system with an online application.
Please monitor this website for information regarding the 2013 Recruitment Campaign.
