From 1 July, 2012, Queensland Health will be implementing the National Health Reform across the state. This will include the establishment of 17 Local Health and Hospital Networks (LHHNs) with an 18th LHHN to be created in the future called Clinical Support Services. Queensland Health has the largest health building program in Australia, totaling to nearly $7 billion, with almost $2 billion being invested alone in 2011-12. This program is delivering new and upgraded health facilities across the state in locations such as the Gold and Sunshine Coasts, Cairns, Mackay, Townsville, Mt Isa and Rockhampton.
