| Queensland Health has developed a Return to Clinical Practice Framework to assist and support allied health professionals who wish to return to clinical practice after a period of absence from the workforce.
The aims of the framework are:
| With the assistance of your appointed clinical supervisor and your professional manager, you will develop a personalised learning plan. This will take into account your past experience, recency of practice and current knowledge, skills and abilities. You will then participate in a period of supervised clinical practice in a supportive environment. Your clinical competence will be assessed against discipline-specific standards. Any existing discipline-specific re-entry guidelines which have been developed by registration boards and/or professional associations will take precedence over the Queensland Health re-entry guidelines. |
Allied health professionals who are from regulated disciplines should either have current general registration or registration with conditions* to be eligible to participate in the Queensland Health re-entry process. Potential allied health re-entrants who have not previously worked for Queensland Health are invited to express interest. |
