| 1. | How do I apply to be in the Allied Health Relief Pool? |

| You must submit an Expression of Interest through the Work For Us website. | |||
| 2. | Do I need to be registered? | ||
| Yes. If your discipline does not require registration, you must be eligible for membership with your professional body. Refer to the requirements to practise for your allied health discipline. | |||
| 3. | I require sponsorship from my employer on the 457 Visa. Can this happen through the relief pool? | ||
| No. The requirements of the 457 Visa include employment to a temporary or permanent position. Recruitment to the relief pool is on a casual basis which is not supported by the Visa. | |||

I am a new graduate, can I apply? | ||
| No, not for the pilot program. It is anticipated that the program will be extended to include new graduates in June 2010. | |||
| 5. | Will I receive any orientation and training? | ||
| Yes. Upon appointment to the relief pool you will be given access to online orientation and training toolkits and programs | |||
| 6. | Do I get to choose where I go? | ||
| You may indicate your location preference on your Expression of Interest. Depending on requirements of that location every attempt will be made to accommodate your request. | |||
| 7. | How will I get there? | ||
| Unless the location is within a four hour drive, you are required to travel by air. Train and bus travel options may also be available. | |||
| 8. | Can I drive rather than fly? | ||
| This can be negotiated through the Allied Health Relief Pool Coordinator prior to your placement if you are not within four hours drive of the location. | |||
| 9. | Some of the rural and remote locations are sole practitioner placements, will I be supported? | ||
| Every health care facility requesting a reliever is required to nominate a clinical mentor for the relief period. This mentor will be your support during the relief placement | |||
| 10. | How long will I be away? | ||
| You may be required to relieve for periods between one and four weeks. | |||
| 11. | How do I get paid? | ||
| Each fortnight you will be paid wages at the level of the position you are providing relief for. The facility where you are relieving will be responsible for paying your wages, plus any accommodation, meal and daily incidental allowances. | |||
| 12. | What do I have to pay for? | ||
|
You may be required to make up-front payments for meals and daily incidental costs. These can be claimed through a staff expense claim form at the completion of your placement.

| 13. | Can I leave a placement early? | ||
| This will be considered on a case-by-case basis. You may be required to pay for your return travel. | |||
| 14. | What do I do if there are any problems? | ||
